20% of the time it works great - redistricting reform and electoral reform after all were ballot propositions.

80% of the time it is just a nuisance and proof how direct democracy doesn't work.

Disappointed that prop 7 might be passed. For us election nerds, this means we will have to wait another hour (midnight) before 55 EVs are called and give Dems the victory in the event of a Blue election - not a problem in a Republican year though. In a more practical sense, it means my old rowing team is going to have a lot more afternoon practices in the dark.
