Groping allegations against Cuomo have been referred to the Albany Police Department.

An allegation of groping made by an aide of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) who said he fondled her at the Executive Mansion last year has been referred to police in Albany.

Albany Police Department spokesperson Steven Smith told The New York Times on Thursday that the department received the referral Wednesday night by New York State Police after The Times Union of Albany published additional details of an account by a sixth woman who accused the governor of unwanted sexual behavior.

The aide did not file a formal complaint over the incident. Cuomo has denied the allegation.


Smith told The New York Times that the referral doesn’t mean that the department has begun investigating, but that it has offered the victim services “as we would do with any other report or incident.”

Albany police said the referral came from state police but the governor's acting counsel Beth Garvey said the state notified the department because the unnamed aide declined to reach out.

“As a matter of state policy when allegations of physical contact are made, the agency informs the complainant that they should contact their local police department. If they decline, the agency has an obligation to reach out themselves and inform the department of the allegation,” Garvey said in a statement to The Hill.

Rep. Zeldin, Rep. Stefanik, Marc Molinaro, Rob Astorino, and Andrew Giuliani have been invited to a Republican Party conference this week regarding the election. Prominent NYGOP/NY Conservative Party figures like Zeldin; but want him pushed further to the right.

The NYGOP did these similar antics with the 27th Congressional Seat. They hold these closed-doors pitch contests to see who they think would be the best fit, and the decided person without flaw typically wins the party's primary. For the 27th they went with center-right Chris Jacobs over Trumpist Stefan Mychajliw, but considering it's a state-wide race and Mychajliw himself and Carl Paladino of all people are calling the shots; the furthest right of the furthest right candidate here will take the nomination; and that's probably gonna be Zeldin - only because I can't see fellow insurrectionist Stefanik promising serious interest in it and Giuliani has obvious legal troubles waiting for him with the AGs of NYS/NYC relating to the Trump years.

Katko voted to extend the Civil Rights Act to sexual orientation and gender identity, voted against Trump's GOP Healthcare Bill, and voted to impeach Trump. He will never become the nominee.

An interesting candidate to keep The SAM Party alive, however...

I'm rolling with that being the likely path we're heading toward. Cuomo vs. Zeldin vs. Katko or similar centrist Republican (SAM) vs. Sharpe (LP) vs. Hawkins (GP).

- Carpinelli, Gibson, and Astorino still quiet since announcing. Giuliani touring the State and eating a lot of food, not making much progress.

- Carl Paladino, Mike Pompeo, Chris Jacobs, John Katko, and Nicole Malliotakis all endorse Zeldin.

GOP primary looking like sure-thing Zeldin vs. what I imagine will be a holdout Giuliani. Only going to get harder for Astorino the more his campaign does nothing.

Giuliani's lack of any notable GOP support speaks to me that some in the NY GOP see the writing on the wall in terms of the NY AG and Trump admin. prosecutions. Something to consider for '24.
