Well, the BBC has sucessfully manage to destroy her in my opinion. When she was announced I thought "Oh, ho, ho, that's going to make the battle an interesting one" and then in the last few minutes they screened video akin to this and called it a "typical Alaskan afternoon"

You can just see Comedy Central and SNL suggesting that's how Palin was picked.
