They were never going. The deplorables will spin this as Trump rebuking the liberal elite but his feelings are hurt that no one wants to come see him.

Also worth noting that Tom Brady and several other of the New England Patriots passed on their visit to the Trump White House.  Trump didn't put down Brady for it.  I wonder what the difference between Curry and Brady is...

I'm sure Trump and his good friend Tom Brady (who has a MAGA hat perched in his locker) talked about it before he announced he was not going. He did not want to look like a hypocrite after saying he had a family emergency when the Patriots were to visit President Obama but he was caught by the paparazzi chilling at an Apple Store the same day.

I do think that if some of these hotheads attended a WH ceremony and used it to advance their issue, Trump might actually listen. 

This post assumes that Trump is capable of having a coherent debate with actual facts. He is a demagogue who lives in an alternate reality. The ceremony would be nothing more than a photo op for him to blow himself. Trump is not normal and cannot be rationalized with as an adult.
