I hereby cast a proxy vote of Aye for Senator NC Yankee who has authorized me to do so due to the unfortunate personal circumstances that have befallen him. I believe he would vote for this bill as he introduced it and also because he is a major proponent for budget security, careful spending, etc. If he is able to vote on this before the vote closes or if his seat is vacated and he is replaced before the vote closes, please recognize that vote instead, Mr. PPT.

By a vote of 6-5-1-6 Resolution passes.

I object to this counting of the vote. You cannot include the "proxy" vote cast by Senator WM. This practice is not sanctioned in the Senate rules, nor in the Constitution, and is effectively Senator WM voting twice.

If you wish to include this, you must ask for unanimous consent from the Senate.

Haven't proxy votes been recognized in the past?

I also object to the Senator's spurious claim because as can be noted I am not simply voting twice. I am trying to reflect how Senator Yankee would have voted evidenced by the fact that I voted present on this bill and I voted Aye on behalf of Senator Yankee as a proxy.
