Sarah Palin gives her announcement speech in Anchorage, AK on July 4, 2011
"Hello Anchorage! I'm announcing that I'm running for president so we can finally put an end to Obama's socialism in order to bring back the God given freedom to all liberty loving Americans. July 4th is a very special day because on that day in 1776, we declared independence from King George's tyranny, and we fought hard to win that freedom which is now in jeopardy under Obama. We will have the opportunity to decide whether we want to continue under the path of darkness under Obama's rule, or we can take the path of light and righteousness, so we can once again make America the shining city on a hill once again by putting an end to radical Islam for good and become energy independent so that we will never have to be subservient to countries that hate American freedom loving values. We will cut taxes and regulations while removing the deficit in order to bring prosperity and stability to the people of our great nation. We will create so many new jobs for all people who need one because that's the key to unleashing that prosperity. I also want to give each and every American citizen a check each year from our abundant oil wealth, as you will see so much oil busting out of the ground that we will have trouble finding what else to do with it. And yes, drill baby drill! We will bring back Jesus into the hearts of our communities and government officials after four long years of persecution by the baby-murdering Obama administration. We will get rid of all restrictions on gun ownership because we the American people have a right to defend ourselves from government tyranny. We will end amnesty for illegal aliens who are coming in by the droves and sucking up American wealth. I will also give free beer tax credits to Americans, so that everyone can enjoy a nice cold one while we create jobs in our amazing American beer industry. We will never accept the tyranny of the elitist limo liberals who want to take away your Big Gulps, so I will full heartedly oppose any soda ban.

I'm a different kind of maverick since I have never submitted to anyone but Jesus himself as I served as Governor of Alaska and as John McCain's running mate, and I have the proven record to fight for the people and for my principles rather than bow down to the elitist establishment. I'm going rouge for the good of everybody in this country, and I hope to win support from all of you and become your Republican nominee and the next President of the United States. During July-September, Palin makes many campaign stops in the key early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. She makes 40% of her visits in Iowa, 20% in New Hampshire, 20% in South Carolina, 10% in Florida, and 10% in Nevada. The Palin Campaign focuses heavily on grassroots organizing, media interviews, and some TV, radio, and internet advertising.
