The 1988 Olympics occurred a few months before my birth. Therefore, this year's Olympics will be the 8th Summer Olympics of my lifetime, alongside 5 Winter Olympics (the earliest contests which I remember contemporaneously were the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 1998 Winter Olympics).
