His last controversy occurred after a majority of ballots had been mailed in already. Exit polls from the 2018 Senate election indicated that only 3% of the electorate in Montana decided their vote in the last few days before Election Day, and only 5% decided within the last week before ED. I'm afraid that there aren't that many undecided voters left at this stage for this to make any significant impact on the election results (unlike the Democratic primaries this year, where late-deciders made up a substantial share of the electorate in many states, thereby making those contests very vulnerable to last-minute shifts).
