Of the groundbreaking Sid Meier's Civilization series, which generation of game is the best? I left out spinoffs such as Beyond Earth and the two Colonizations.
You can judge them based off of purely base game, or with expansions.
I've played all of them except the first, and I'm gonna rank them:
1. IV 2. V 3. III 4. II 5. VI
IV's the best, most easily playable, fun, dynamic, moddable.
V is the best aesthetically, pretty good gameplay and moddability.
III is, for some reason, difficult for me to play, but still interesting. Plus, the leaderheads change with every era.
I just don't remember II all that well, but it was pretty fun to play + those advisors.
I did not like VI at all so I refunded it on steam.
