Jamie Dimon at Treasury doesn't make much sense:

1) I'm not sure if he could be confirmed by the Senate, or if he would want to go through the scrutiny that would entail
2) If he would want to leave his position as head of Goldman Sachs to lead the treasury department, which would in all honesty be a step down for him.

Possibly a good move. Though some safe Democratic state Senators with Democratic Governors, if qualified enough, leaving their seats wouldn't be a big deal.
This is good because we can't afford even a moderate Republican occupying a safe D senate senate seat for any length of time.

Actually one smart move would be to appoint Dianne Feinstein as ambassador to Japan (often a cushy semi-retirement for old white politicians) to get her out of the Senate and allow Newsome to appoint someone younger and more competent.
