Yep- Adelson is proof that wealth has nothing to do with intelligence. He is basically setting fire to his money at this point.
Or... he based his decision on a "magical" internals 
This is the same shady casino mogul who basically financed the RNC - which was a total disaster and saw Trump's support drop in the polls. Sheldon Adelson knows nothing about electoral politics. He thinks that if he can throw enough money at it, Americans will be stupid enough to elect his preferred candidate. His history of political failure indicates otherwise.
Someone from Atlas should get in with Adelson and persuade him to drop 10s of millions on safe-D House and Senate races.
