Let me get this straight, Andrew Yang is a joke of a candidate because he had the audacity to create a slogan that served as a mockery of Trump’s infamous “MAGA”, while also managing to have the acronym of his slogan actually spell out a word? Wouldn’t this suggest that he’s actually a more serious candidate since he put enough thought into his slogan to have its acronym spell out a coherent word while also taking a shot at Trump? MATH is an objectively superior slogan than any other Democrat slogan in the primaries. The rest were so lame and forgettable that I can’t even remember any of them, not even Biden’s.

What did I just read? A parody of MAGA is in no way a serious slogan. Are you really trying to argue that having a satirical, mocking slogan makes him a more serious candidate? Just wow

I'm really not a fan of the online Yang stans (the ones here are ok), but I don't think Andrew Yang saying things like "the opposite of Donald Trump is an Asian guy who likes math" necessarily plays to the stereotype that we're all math nerds (Atlas members notwithstanding). If anything, I would argue that his choice of words challenges that stereotype by treating his race and his liking math as separate and unrelated parts of his identity.

How is it baseless? Your IP matched with that of another account that joined specifically to help you in an argument. That doesn't necessarily prove the case, but it's pretty compelling evidence.

Are Episcopalians mostly African-American?  Reading about religion seemed quite conservative so only way go heavily Democrat is if most African-American.

This question isn’t worth responding to in its own thread. I wouldn’t expect a newbie to this community to be aware of the stereotypes and reputation of about American Episcopalians, but mileslunn has been on this forum for several years now.

I really feel people should read it, it’s not some radical new take, but it do sum up a lot of things nicely. The point is that Ivy League is for people who either

1: have a clear career path, where connection you make at Ivy League universities make sense (he used law as example).
2: come from a rich family which can afford it, and your future job is already guaranteed, unless you really do some stupid stuff.
3: come from economic disadvantaged background (translation; Black) and can get a free ride to join the elite,

Tell me you aren’t an American without giving away your specific country of residence. The vast majority of lower-class students of all races are better served by attending city colleges or public flagship schools seeing as they would not make competitive applicants to Ivy League schools. Besides most Black students at elite private and public schools aren’t lower-class ADOS.
