Absolutely. The Kremlin has a legendary hatred for Hillary Clinton and wanted her to lose more than anything.

Even if her GOP opponent was either Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush or John Kasich, all hawkish neoconservative Republicans who would have adopted an agressive foreign policy towards Russia?

Would Clinton have been even any less aggressive towards Russia than your average Republican neocon?

If the Kremlin knew they would be in a lose-lose no matter who won, why wouldn't they at least take out the person they particularly despised?

An establishment republican is probably worse to Russia then the democrats .

Remember Romney famous , Russia is our biggest threat and the democrats all freaking out over that statement.

Perhaps slightly more hostile than Hillary, but it's really a wash when you look at her record and statements in regards to Russia.

The Russians supported obama over romney in 2012

In a pre-Crimea world. And Obama is no Hillary on foreign policy. She's much more hawkish than he ever was on Russia.

Though I remember most Republicans during crimea criticizing Obama for being too weak against russia , and how their were some neo cons who wanted us to send troops to the region.

Ok but was there any policy position regarding Russia where Bush, Kasich, or Rubio took a more hawkish approach than Hillary Clinton?

There's nothing different policy wise in his approach to Russia than Secretary Clinton's. The only person who comes to mind is when Christie threatened to shoot down Russian planes in a Syrian no fly zone.
