the VP is elected separately from the President, so you could vote for a President from one party and a VP from another (the party's presidential nominee still picks the VP, and if you're wondering how this would work, the electors would vote for whichever VP candidate got the most votes in their state, so in essence it's kind of another presidential election except for the VP instead of the presidency), do you think there would be any elections where you would have a President from one party and a VP from the other (and this is assuming that all the nominees in this timeline pick the same VP's as they do in OTL) ? Off the top of my head, the only election where I think that's possible is 1988.

Cheney was significantly more disliked than W Bush and I think Edwards probably wins all the Kerry States + Ohio and Iowa.

Well yeah, it's no secret that Cheney is despised pretty intensely in certain corners, but my point was, did people who voted for Bush despise Cheney?
