He didn’t really get replaced with the most right-wing member of the court unless you forgot Scalia.

In my opinion, if anything Thurgood Marshall not retiring would have helped President Bush, at least if it affected the fractured – even with one Democratic appointee and that unusually conservative and made over three decades previously – ruling in Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
