My impression of WalMart workers has been more that they simply don't give an Inks about your precious S2S purchase. Being in a hurry to help people has never been their strong point. But if you're already online, why not just have whatever you're buying shipped to your home? Or, conversely, if you prefer to go to the store, why bother going online? Are you buying something so supremely obscure that it's not ordinarily carried by The Largest Store on Earth?

The only time I saw Site 2 Store used intelligently was a customer who realized that when he ordered something that the store didn't usually carry, and cancelled the order after it was shipped to the store, that we don't really have a way of sending it back. So then we have some random thing we're not supposed to carry, messing up the inventory and taking up space, so it gets clearance'd out as quickly as possible. Several times he did this with laptops and stuff so he could come in the next day and buy it for like 50% off

Is that technically allowed? It's actually very clever, but seems too good to be true. What I really don't get is layaway. I understand some people have bad credit or are fearful of credit or whatever. Fine. That part makes sense. So, if you can't/won't use credit and don't have the money immediately, why not just save up for it? What is the utility in giving WalMart the money piecemeal, presumably with some sort of fee added on and only receiving the merchandise after it is paid for in full?

With all due respect to BK, this Walmart thing is nothing more than a pipe dream.  I guess it doesn't hurt to apply though.
.
Bushie could definitely work at WalMart. Just almost certainly not in a salaried, supervisory position.

1. Bushie, by what metric do you claim to be a good drafter?
2. Update fans, by what metric does Bushie have a lot of potential?
I'm seeing zero evidence for either of these claims. I don't want to get into the realm of personal attacks or even specific mental health diagnoses, but neither of these suggestions is a reasonable statement. He's not going to change into something that he's not and it's unfortunate that people keep telling him he can do things that he obviously can't and, at this point, it's just as sad that he doesn't know himself well enough to know the truth. Bushie, set a reasonable goal for yourself. There's no shame in stocking shelves or delivering pizzas.  Indeed, it's far better than whatever the Inks you've been doing the last 10 years.

Duke's post reminded me of when a call center customer had to tell Bushie to calm down. Good times! The other thing about Bushie is that he seems to think he only needs a small change here or there to fix his problems, when, in reality, he would need to make massive changes, whether it's his diet, his work situation, whatever. He's not close with a few little problems. His life is a fullscale disaster, and he refuses to recognize it.

Pretty much everyone here is giving you terrible advice, because they're assuming that you're just an ordinary person who happens to be a bit thick and extremely lazy. As I think you know yourself, this isn't really the case, is it? All across the world, stupider people than you (Christ: lazier people than you) hold down - right now, as I type, as you read this - the sort of jobs you've been fired from. Your difficulties with the world of work are not primarily caused by character defects.

You have certain issues that need to be - if not dealt with because that would be impossible - managed. You have tourettes, you have (as you have acknowledged) learning difficulties and you almost certainly have something else (six letters, begins with an 'a' ends with an 'm'). None of this is your fault. You need help and you need to accept that there is no shame in seeking it.

Interesting. People do seem to be reacting to this in the way you said the might- I'd gather it is because they too do not want to change.
There is this implicit American belief that everybody can do anything if they just believe and try hard enough. Bushie might change his ways and win that gold in female gymnastics after all. That's not to say I'm the type to suggest he should just throw up his hands, say I can't do anything ever either. There's a happy medium. We all have our talents as well as our limitations in life. As adults, we should know ourselves well enough to position ourselves advantageously in accordance with our unique character.  Bushie is.....well Bushie. He's not an overacheiving go-getter. He's never going to be. That's not so terrible by itself, but he's setting himself up for failure time and time again because he thinks that he is. Sigh....

When I say it will be ending soon, I don't mean anytime in the immediate future.  I believe we are somewhere between 7 and 10 years away.  That's my best guess.  However, the Bible clearly says no one knows the day nor the hour that the Son of man will return, but based on current events especially in Europe and the Middle East, I think we can get an idea.

Since we don't officially know when it's going to end, it is still vital to live life as normal and go out and be a witness to the unbelievers.  Note, in Christianity that is gently, lovingly talking and praying with them.  Parts of Islam is much more forceful and violent to unbelievers.
7 to 10 years? That's extremely soon, not just on a geological time frame, but even in the life of a person . Is that why you live the way you do? I'd probably be up to a lot of crazy shenanigans too if I were convinced there was no need to plan for anything past 2024.  You'd still be the better Updater by far though. I'm more than happy to give you that.

I'm not going to debate my views on the end time.  I was just answering a question.  Anyway, I am just relaxing tonight trying to make sure I'm feeling better to go down to my parents tomorrow afternoon for the weekend and several family dinners.  I'll be back to Tulsa Sunday.  I'll have my laptop and I'll put the resume on the cloud so I can still job search during the days Thursday and Friday.  If by some chance I have an interview one of the two days, I'll come back up here in the morning and go back after the interview.  Then, I have a weekend vacation to see my uncle in Kansas City next weekend.  We'll leave Friday and come back Sunday.
Any chance there will be some enchilada casserole on the menu? We haven't heard anything about that particular delicacy in a while.

It's just my mom's sister and brother-in-law.  They're on their way through headed to Florida next week, but will be back through in November on their way back home to Las Vegas.  They come through 4 times a year.
They drive from Vegas to Florida 4 times a year? Interesting. That's quite a drive. Tell us more about them.

I live in Kansas City. How about meeting for breakfasts, lunch or dinner (just one, not all three)?

Doubtful I could pull that off.  Ill be with my parents and it'd be just a quick trip.
32 years old and can't leave his parents sight for one meal with a friend. Unbelievable.

I think the more important question is...

How do you have SEVERAL family dinners over the course of one weekend?

Thursday (and in this case Wednesday) count as the weekend, so the calories don't count and NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO QUESTION ME ON THAT!

The real tragedy here is that Bushie wasn't born in similar circumstances in Saudi Arabia, because he could have easily landed a nice gig in the Saudi government with awesome conditions and insanely good job security - where you're paid to do nothing all day, surf the internet, play games online, go to prayer during working hours, take a nap at noon, leave the office at 2-3pm to head home and ingest piles of sh**t (given that Saudis mostly eat the same sh**t as Bushie does, and KSA has the same chains as in Oklahoma...) and do whatever mundane daily activities for the rest of the day. Besides, KSA has free healthcare, no taxes, cheap gas and apparently even subsidized (if not free) cars and housing for public servants. There's certainly little incentive to actually work if your job is a push-paper redundancy in the government there, so there'd obviously be no risk of getting canned within a month.
Pork tenderloin and bacon cheeseburgers in Saudi Arabia? Really???

J-Mann seems to have made coaching Bushie into a personal challenge. It's an epic battle of wills now between him and Bushie's laziness. It's like the Super Bowl!

While I applaud J-Mann for his persistence, I think he may be going about things the wrong way. Bushie's polite rejections are exactly the way things are done in my part of the world, and I presume, Oklahoma also. It's not really allowed to say "No, I don't want to see you", so people make all sorts of feigned excuses for avoiding social invitations. I'm not feeling well is, of course, the gold standard, but one cannot know such things about a trip that is still in the future, so Bushie must think of another polite obstacle. The family would never permit such things. We'll be much too busy. But, really, I would like it ever so much and we absolutely must do it another time. Maybe all this seems strange to frank Midwesterners, who can pull off being both sincere and polite. It's a feat Baptists cannot possibly manage. They must choose one or the other and Mother always teaches to go for the latter whenever possible.

Arranging to meet JMann would require some sort of explanations to Mama Bushie. This is a woman who won't allow him to use the stove. Can you imagine her reaction if he told her he wanted to meet some strange man from the internet for a lunch. It would all be too much, she would obviously NOT give permission. I can't really fault Bushie here. Who wants to start a hassle with The Boss?

One good thing about being sick is that it may help me shed a couple of pounds.  This evening, I only had one plate of the casserole, corn, and baked beans and only had a small piece of cake and one scoop of ice cream for dessert.  I just have very little appetite.
Nice trolling, buddy. Made my evening.

Bushie, just curious. Why do you have the "village idiot" quote in your sig? And bolded too. Do you think that this is how the Forum views you? If so, are you proud of this?

Bushie holds Mama's opinions highest, followed distantly by Papa, then Grandma, then himself.

We're all distant 5ths.
You forgot all his church friend cheerleaders on the facialbook.

It's nice that Bushie now sends job listings to Update fans for confirmation that the ad is not an obvious scam. It shows that he has some capacity to learn from his mistakes.

Does it really matter whether or not he gets this job? Either way, he's going to be unemployed and looking for the next step of his career at Christmas.

Bushie didn't even make it to the end of his probationary period with the other employer and then says this new job will be "even easier."
