The main reason I'd never live in America is the lack of UHC Tongue
No need to stick out your tongue. That's a huge problem here. Unlike the silly (and frankly non-factual) things the article points out. He thinks Americans are sensitive? Try talking to the Brits about their colonial past. Or the French about their language. Or the Germans about Hitler. Or anybody in Eastern Europe about the Soviet Union. People everywhere are sensitive about things. At least we don't outright censor topics we find uncomfortable. You can buy anything racially insenitive that you want in the US. Try buying Nazi stuff in Europe. Europeans are sensitive about plenty of things. He complains about tipping, but then says it's Americans who worry too much about money. He has the gall to say Europeans are better than Americans about taxes??!! WTF? In a entire article that stereotypes America, he then lambasts Americans for steroetyping. Also, Mr. Americans are always in a hurry (stereotype much) has clearly never gotten past Manhattan or similar business districts in a few other major cities. Because most "regular" people in this country are lazy are slow as hell and take forever to do anything. Especially olds and blacks. But it's so troll article, so whatever.

I read the article, and I think you're missing the point.  He's saying Americans are too sensitive on a more general, personal, individual level--that Americans seem to be inhibited about telling others the truth about things and feel like they have to water down their opinions.  That's very different from being sensitive about a particular topic like language or WWII.  And frankly, the hysterical tone of your post suggests that the article has hit a nerve, and that there is at least some truth to it.  I agree with what he's saying where this is concerned.
Yes, it pisses me off when I'm falsely stereotyped. Just like he was saying he is. That's a universal trait that has nothing to do with nationality. You may as well write an article from the Vulcan point of view saying those damn humans and their emotions. Aren't they stupid!

Well, if the sales tax thing bothers you that much you can just buy whatever you need from Amazon. At least in TN, they got a special exemption from having to pay sales taxes in exchange for opening a distribution center in the state. Total horsecrap, but whatever. It is what it is.

I remember reading there was one country (New Zealand maybe?) where the sales tax isn't included in displayed prices usually but retailers also usually tried to make the price + tax equal an even number. So all the prices would be odd numbers, but it'd even out with the tax.

The Chinese restaurants do that here. It is kind of nice to get a final bill of exactly $9 or whatever. Those Asians are so smart with math Tongue
And the other thing about sales tax that I don't get is how the state makes a big fuss about having a "sales tax holiday" right before the school year starts. I guess it's nice to be able to save 9%, but not enough to fight all the crowds of people who think it's the biggest damn deal in the world. Again, one could just order from Amazon and screw the state any day of the year.

small amount where the tax won't be over a dollar I bring in some spare change.

Yeah that is how it is done here.  I don't know if it is a sales tax or a value-added tax, but of course many non-corporate sales simply don't bother with it.
Yep. Asian people smart with math. As true in Thailand as in my humble hometown. Although it's really more for their benefit than the customer's. They don't want to fool around with pennies and nickels.
