In as much is there is such a thing, the "average" white person is more privileged than the "average" black person, but that certainly doesn't mean that it's true in all cases. It's pretty obvious that the US needs to work on making itself a more meritocratic society if only for competitive reasons. Nobody wants to crap on a people that have been through so much grief, but there are a lot of cultural issues (the prevalence of violent crime foremost) that black america is going to have to work out for itself before we can be a perfectly colorblind society. Also, most blacks are not poor. Too many are, but it's far from universal. Here's a random house for sale in monolithically black neighborhood across town from me:

99% chance the resident of that house is a poor.

Sure doesn't look like poor housing to me. Poor is a relative term. It's not the fanciest of neighborhoods, even for the blacks, but it sure beats living around here

Yeah I think of poor in terms of class.  Most people are poors.
