This guy is like the Bill Clinton of the New York Democratic Party, a cancer which must be removed.

#BelieveAllWomenWhoDontAccusePowerfulDemocrats

Meanwhile, everybody in this thread - Democrats included - is believing the woman who's accusing a powerful Democrat.

I swear, you're so disconnected from reality that it would honestly be funny if it weren't just so sad.

I swear, you're so disconnected from reality that it would honestly be funny if it weren't just so sad.

So where are the Democrats calling for him to resign? It's just sad how you resort to personal attacks.

Are you literally blind? Every single red-av who posted prior to you - myself included - either called for his resignation or, failing that, his removal from office:

Sickening. He should either resign or be impeached.

Much like Trump (who he is the Democratic mirror of), this is never going to get better. At this point, the focus from the public should not be on directly getting Cuomo to resign (which he clearly isn't going to do willingly), but instead on other Democratic officials,  asking why they're not calling for Cuomo's resignation, and expelling him from the party if he refuses.

BlueMAGA is out in force in the NYT comments on Facebook — not good!

Top comments:
"This would not surprise me to be a setup by the GOP et al. They hated him for reporting the Covid issues on a daily basis. DT vowed to get him."
"It's the Republican party trying to smear Cuomo name the man did the best he could Trump is behind all of this bs because he is being held accountable in NY"
"Unmerciful hit on Cuomo by the Trump cultists to eliminate the competition for 2024. Isn’t hard to see through these tactics. They hate Cuomo.for his high profile and outspoken assaults on Trump. Both New Yorkers at one time. Follow the money.$$ Who has been paid?? If there is any truth to it, it will come out. It always does. But sounds like a hit job to me. My opinion."

This is how it starts isn’t it. National and state Democratic leadership needs to come out against Cuomo now and demand his resignation or impeachment. The ~~40% of Cuomo diehard #resist Facebook users can go pound sand.

This guy is like the Bill Clinton of the New York Democratic Party, a cancer which must be removed.

I'm sorry (not sorry) to say it, but it's just not a personal attack to merely point out the facts about your conduct &, more particularly, the inherent wrongness thereof (EDIT: & looking at the post recommendations, it looks like our site's very own Modadmin - y'know, whose job it is to literally determine what is & isn't a personal attack - agrees. Thanks, YE!).

Why are Biden, Harris, Schumer, Gillibrand and other NY Dems silent?  They need to step up or they are enablers of Cuomo’s filth

That's what I was talking about.

Convenient goal-post moving.

And also Bill Clinton. Oh wait, never mind about that.

And this is just yet another example of the kinda sh*t you do that I've been talking about & have had enough of: even when it's shown to you that literally every Democrat on this thread is done with this kinda sh*t, even though many - if not all - of said Democrats have indeed criticized Clinton for his past conduct & have expressed regret for not having been more tough on him at the time, & even though these are the same people in the same party who were evidently able to learn enough from that experience to go on & demand the removal of one of our party's hitherto most popular & beloved Senators from politics, you still seemingly feel compelled to ignore all of that just to state "well um ackshually, what you're saying right now doesn't matter in the slightest because you f**ked up in the past, so regardless of what you do from here on out, I'm gonna keep reminding you of that past f**k-up 'til the end of time itself."

And of course, you'll probably bring up Tara Reade in response to that, in response to which, I - backed up by everybody else - will remind you that her allegation was investigated to the maximum extent possible & all signs pointed toward it being nothing but bullsh*t, which will just be yet another fact that you'll continue conveniently ignoring because there'll never be any winning with you.

Admit it: you'll never be satisfied with anything that any member of the Democratic Party does precisely because you don't wanna be, because your sole goal on this forum - if not in life - is to seemingly criticize members of the Democratic Party for everything short of their very existence. And that's fine (I mean, it's not, but we're far past that point, so I digress), but at least stop being a coward & just admit it already. Posters might actually be willing to respect you if you did.

They still let Bill Clinton speak at the 2020 DNC, so none of what he did mattered to them.

He's a former President not named Jimmy Carter who was given the smallest 3-minute speaking slot possible (which, y'know, lmao if you're under the impression of that constituting anything that even resembles a significant convention slot) despite his being renowned as the Democratic Party's most charismatic - if not greatest - orator & he's been persona-non-grata at Democratic campaign rallies & the like - despite his probably being the Democratic Party's people's person of people's people - since the #MeToo-era began. That's nowhere near a perfect response, as many red-avs (myself included, literally right here) are perfectly willing to make clear, but your saying that "none of what he did mattered to them" is as laughable as pretty much anything & everything else that you've ever had to say on this forum.

Also, in light of the 2 most recent news updates: he has to be done after those. If he's not, then literally nothing might as well matter anymore.

Define "has to be done". No re-elex, or has to resign? I assume the former is much easier of a threshold than the latter.

Politically-forced resignation a-la Spitzer & Schneiderman, & impeachment/removal if he's unwilling to leave while he still has a miniscule amount of dignity left.

Ah okay.
I could see two outcomes at this point.
1. He basically serves the rest of his term as a quasi-lame duck of sorts in return for being allowed to stay in office.
2. He gets Spitzered.

Do the votes exist for impeaching Coumo? Would the GOP vote in favor?

Oh, the GOP would absolutely vote for it. In combination with them, only 22/43 Democratic Senate votes would be required to convict, so I'd imagine if we're already at a point where the Assembly impeached, there'd be a sufficient will in the Senate to convict.

What does the GOP benefit from if Coumo gets impeached?

They & their base hate the man with a burning passion, so brownie points from their supporters, not to mention the ability to never have to be forced to deal with him in Albany ever again.

State Attorney General Letitia James has now issued a statement:

The Governor's office has apparently complied with her request:

Letitia James does not accept Cuomo's proposal. Per NY Post, Kathy Hochul also has backed James' position and called for an independent investigation.

You don't f**k around with Tish James. Cuomo's about to find that out the hard way.

Mhmm:

Quote from: Andrew Cuomo
Ever been with an older man?

Yup, I can totally see how that's misinterpretable. /s if it wasn't painfully obvious.
