What's the science behind demolitions anyway? How do they make it collapse in on itself?
Essentially, explosives set at the building's supports up & down the length of its entirety. These explosives aren't set off all at once, but on timers that detonate them in a sequence, & though this varies depending on what the building's made out of, the explosives on the bottom are generally the first to be triggered in order to blow out the lowest supports, forcing the building to drop straight down, followed by detonation of explosives on the next-up floor to keep making sure the building keeps going straight down, & so on & so forth the rest of the way up the building. The overall result is a tightly controlled collapse so that the building doesn't tip over &/or fall in each & every direction but more-or-less just goes straight down.
