I have a feeling a Civil War will be brewing in the Democratic Party between the Establishment symbolized by Barack Obama,Joe Biden and Hillary and the Young Insurgents in the Party symbolized by Bernie Sanders and his young supporters. I think Bernie and his backers will win because they will have more energy and determination than the Establishment. A bloody Civil War will set the Democratic Party back and it could be a long walk in the wilderness.

If Sanders run he will sweep NH. And he has a very good chance in both NV & IW. If he goes to SC with a 3-0 record, it will be tough to beat him. Even if Obama & Hillary endorses Biden, it will be difficult for him to do the same numbers with blacks that Clinton did (which was shaped by personal Clinton affection, low name recognition of Sanders & huge elect-ability argument vs Sanders).

I could see the Sanders win taking over in a bloodless coup!

Sort of like George McGovern in 1972

I don't think Bernie will run again in 2020.  He will be 79 (83 in 2024) and a campaign is really hard work.  I do however think he would be a great VP candidate if he is doing well health-wise.

He is still going to Sanding Rock & doing rallies in DC & everywhere with unions n stuff - He was way fitter than Hillary & Hillary may run again. Joe Biden has already said he will probably run & he will be almost as old as Bernie.

Trump is only a little younger than Bernie. Maybe Bernie won't be running but I feel he has become to big of a leader of a movement to be the VP candidate. And if he is healthy enough to be VP, then he could be running. He has ruled out not running saying who knows what will happen in 2020, that is a long time away.

And if he doesn't run, maybe there will be a civil war within the progressive wing - If Gabbard or Merkley run vs Warren & Bernie doesn't endorse Warren then that would be fun too. It will be interesting to see if Warren runs away but Gabbard is a terrific speaker (way better than Warren) but  too young & not as progressive.
I wouldn't be shocked if Gabbard was named the VP Candidate by Biden,Sanders or Warren in 2020. She's got a very promising future in the Democratic Party.

Why does that sound familiar....oh yeah that's what everyone said about the reps after 2008

I said that because of the way Bernie Sanders was screwed out of the Democratic Nomination.
