Montana Sen. Steve Bullock to run for President

Helena, Montana
Today, Montana's junior senator Steve Bullock announced his candidacy for President at a campaign event in the state's capital. Bullock, formerly Montana's governor, defeated Steve Daines in the 2020 Senate election. In his speech, Bullock touted his moderate credentials and promised to find a bipartisan solution to the economic crisis.

Bullock Platform
- Bipartisanship: The deadlock between the parties is a major reason why the recession continues. During his 8 years as Montana governor and as the state's senator, Bullock has been willing and eager to work with both Democrats and Republicans to create sensible solutions to the problems facing Montana and the country. As President, Bullock will work with the leaders of both parties to craft a bipartisan solution to finally alleviate the recession's worst effects.
- Include All Americans: Bullock is from a rural state, and thus understands the need for the Democratic party to respect the interests of all Americans, not just those in coastal and urban regions.  As President, Bullock will be a voice for Rural America, by supporting legislation to protect farmers, unions, and small business and by ensuring everyone is included in America's economic recovery.
- Our Rights: Bullock believes that all Americans should have basic rights in the 21st century. He supports LGBTQ+ rights, net neutrality, and a path to citizenship for those not fortunate enough to be born in America. As President, Bullock will support legislation to fix America's immigration system and restore net neutrality, and will act vigorously to ensure the progress in LGBTQ+ rights over the past decades will not be reversed.

The Bullock campaign will focus on increasing name recognition, and will campaign mostly in the states of Iowa and Nevada.

Vilsack endorses Bullock

Former Iowa governor and U.S Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has endorsed Steve Bullock for President, citing his agreement with Bullock's bipartisan record and the need for both parties to cooperate to solve the current economic crisis.
Quote from: Gov. Tom Vilsack
I've worked closely with Steve Bullock on several occasions both during and after my tenure as Agriculture Secretary, and I can attest to Steve's dedication to rural Iowans and Americans. I am proud to endorse him for President of the United States.
Vilsack will join Bullock at several campaign events in Iowa in the later half of July.

Gov. Vilsack Schedule
July 22: Announce endorsement at Cedar Rapids town hall.
July 24-26: Campaign with Bullock in SE Iowa, and appear at Bullock rally in Davenport.

Bullock Debate Answers

1. Firstly, I'd like to thank Anderson for moderating this debate, and to the gracious people of Manchester for hosting us. At this moment, America stands at a turning point. We are mired in the worst national crisis since 2008, and our government has been unable to do much due to partisan deadlock. The most polarized elements of our parties have paralyzed negotiations, and the American people are being held hostage. As President, I pledge to fully back bipartisan talks to craft a long-lasting solution to this terrible crisis, and I will actively press Congress to work together for the best interests of the American people.

2. I fully support the public option. Many of my constituents cannot afford private healthcare, and this option has allowed them to finally access health care worthy of a first-world nation. After we fix our economy, I look forward to supporting new healthcare initiatives to continue bringing high-quality healthcare to those who need it the most, and I will seek support from Congress for these efforts.

3. Former President Trump already wasted taxpayer money to build unneeded fencing when a smarter, high-tech solution was present. Especially given the economic state our country is in, spending further money to remove border fencing is highly inappropriate - no matter the moral arguments that other Democrats make. Every taxpayer dollar available should be used to help end this recession.

4. I have a ton of respect for Joe, both as a person and as President. He has had a long and highly productive career serving the American people, and maintained his image as a centrist even in an era of extreme polarization. While the continuing recession is certainly a stain on his legacy, it is certainly not for lack of trying.

5. I have nothing to say regarding my fellow Democratic candidates, but I would like to commend Senator Hawley for pledging not to run negative ads. While we disagree sharply on many issues, positivity is a critical asset in such a dark time. I also pledge to refrain from running negative ads, and I hope fellow Democrats will do the same.

6. The recession that began in 2022 still continues today, despite the best efforts of President Biden to meditate a compromise. Despite his shortcomings, now is not the time to nominate someone who shuns the spirit of bipartisanship; if our next president is too radical, creating a long-lasting and effective solution will be nearly impossible due to congressional deadlock. As President, I will actively push Congress to aid America's people by putting aside party affiliation to kickstart the recovery process. Once we end this recession, the future is bright; we can improve our nation's infrastructure by finishing road and train projects (such as Nevada's Interstate 11), we can further expand healthcare and aid to the needy and disabled, and we can cure the pervasive partisan climate that has plagued us since the election of Donald Trump. I hope to lead American into that future. Thank you for your time.

OWNER ANNOUNCEMENTJust letting everybody know that due to inactivity the candidacies of Vice President Amy Klobuchar and Senator Chris Sununu will end. Klobuchar's endorsement isn't available because she's the incumbent Vice President. However, Senator Sununu's endorsement is now available. I'll decide how their delegates will be distributed in the coming days. Know that if you're inactive, your campaign will end by my hand

Also, when are the NV and SC primaries?

Wow! Thank you Nevada! Tonight, our candidacy just notched a critical win in the state of Nevada, and we also finished second in South Carolina, a state pundits didn't expect us to compete in. These victories give our movement renewed momentum, and we will continue riding strong into Super Tuesday and to the White House!

Steve Bullock Campaign: Week before Super Tuesday
Since dates are still unclear, I will use generic Day 1-Day 7 designations, assuming there's a little over a week between NV/SC and Super Tuesday.

Day 1: Thank-you speech in Nevada, fly to Salt Lake City. Campaign in Northern Utah with Ben McAdams.
Day 2: Cross into Colorado, rally with Sen. Bennet in Denver. Campaign in Denver/Ft. Collins area.
Day 3: Campaign in southern Colorado. Fly to Oklahoma.
Day 4: Rally with Drew Edmondson in Oklahoma. Fly to North Carolina. Late town hall in Raleigh.
Day 5: Campaign in Charlotte with Dan McCready and Jeff Jackson, fly north to Virginia and campaign in Fairfax County area.
Day 6: Fly to Minnesota, rally in Twin Cities with Tim Walz. Campaign briefly in the area before flying to Texas.
Day 7-any remaining days: Campaign around Texas (focus on the three major metropolitan areas) with Beto O'Rourke, Colin Allred, and Julian Castro. On Election Day, retire to campaign HQ in Houston.

I may edit in additional endorsements later.

Due to an upcoming absence in July and my overall exhaustion (mostly school-induced), I can't play this game to my full capacity, so I'm dropping out. Bullock is still the frontrunner, so if anyone wants to take over his campaign that would be great. Sorry.
