You're a lucky SOB to have your favourite being in the final.

Yep, it was unexpected. Maybe my threats were more effective than yours, after all Wink.

I don't really understand your "empty" adjective...
Guyenne as a whole is less empty than Auvergne, Savoie or even Basse-Normandie.

And, as for Bordeaux, yeah, you're talking of the last half of Chaban's reign; that's old now... The city is clean and wonderful now.
River banks are completely transformed: you CAN see the Garonne now !
Really, you wouldn't recognize the city. And you wouldn't think Place de la Bourse has a "pretentious" architecture: it's just beautiful, elegant, besides clean river banks and modern urban furnitures.

Nah everything is as fine as Normandy. 2 lions beat one. Everything is normal.

Oh, and why fat?

Cream and butter from everywhere, but especially from Isigny (et les caramels, d'ailleurs !).
Cheeses from Livarot, Pont-l'Evêque, Camembert, Neufchâtel.
"Fat" grass and soils.
"Real" cows.

These are the reasons why I prefer Normandie to Bretagne (sorry, Hash Wink): in Normandie, they know how to eat...
But of course, as for drinking, Guyenne is still the best Grin

Sorry, but I don't like it. Quite common...

One of the biggest pastries is Paris-Brest, but, of course, it's from Ile-de-France... Wink

The biggest pastry ever is the cannelé bordelais (and it's really not out of parochialism)...

Damn it. I really don't want to be all negative about Bordeaux, but I tasted once, and in Bordeaux! In the Sant-Christoly mall, and really, wasn't much great, slightly dry, not much taste, and expensive!

I prefer Paris-Brest. Tongue

Oh, in the Saint-Christoly mall, everything is bad... Wink
But I've got a recipe (is that the English word for recette ?)by an old baker which is very fine.
And if you tkae out 3 quarters of the rhum which Lenôtre puts in its recipe, it's very fine too.
It should be crunchy on the outside and smooth and a bit fat in the inside... Grin
