I want some McCain slamming today. Enough of the feel good crap. When will they realize that the best thing to bring to sparing factions together is a common enemy?

Nah, your heart just isn't in it. The below is where your heart is. I just know you have a secret crush on John.  So tonight, what you need to do for self actualization is to just lash away at Hillary, and punish her, and punish her some more. You can do it - yes you can!

Another all gain, no pain speech, no tough choices, just a host of posited win, wins, that the GOP refuses to embrace because they want the American people to lose. I guess it appeals to some.

I don't consider this a serious speech, so far. Just partisan spam. And the bashing of the oil companies is nausiating demagoguery. The oil companies should all decamp to Switzerland.

Hillary did a subtle bitch slap to Obama's health care plan. Everyone must be covered she said. That is not Obama's plan.

This gender pay equity thing just scares the hell out of me. It would be litigation city, as job wages cease to be dictated by the market.

I'm too ideological to be objective about this speech, I admit it. I hate it!

Well, some (and I dont necessarily agree) would say that such legislation is needed because of a market failure...assuming the woman and man are equal in all things other than gender/sex...but I agree, it would be difficult as you really can never hold so many variables constant.

I don't believe such pay disparities exist. It is not apples and oranges. The pay differentials are mostly generated by women going in and out of the job market. And this isn't about pay equity about the exact same jobs anyway, with the exact same job histories. It is about pay "fairness" for jobs in different categories, based on comparative worth. It's all toxic.

As Kristol points out, it was very generic. There was nothing personal about Obama. Just a comment that Michelle would make a great first lady. Nothing about her getting to know Obama, and thinking he was a very talented guy whom she came to respect.

Hillary said very little about Obama on a personal level. He was just a fungible democrat. Jfern   or MSU or Eraserhead would have sufficed equally.

She said he built his campaign on the premise that change happens from the bottom up. That was a hat tip to him, IMO.

How nice. Hillary was top down I guess.
