TJ is a cautious individual, very analytical and cerebral, whose faith is an important lens through which he evaluates issues. So on some social issues he is quite conservative, but overall the communitarian part of Catholicism or whatever, shoves him away from standard classical liberalism/conservatism, so overall I would label him (and I don't like labeling folks because it so often distorts more than clarifies), as a moderate conservative. Some of that I suspect comes from his temperament.

DavidB has an interesting mix - perhaps a tad left of center on fiscal, social safety net issues, on social issues centrist to center left, but very much in favor of a muscular foreign/defense policy, right of center on immigration issues, and of course very pro Israel, and rather hard line on issues related to Israel. I may have some of this a bit wrong, but that is my overall impression.

Centrist on economic issues (that is my impression anyway), and a conservative (perhaps center right) on social issues by and large. Piggy backing off the comment above, on social issues, he does not by and large remind me of Huckabee (a man I quite detest by the way, and with whom I disagree on almost every issue that he speaks about, but I digress), and does seem more like the NR ala RFayette.

As to ideology, perhaps center left is my impression. But what impresses me most about the poster, and the reason I am dropping by, is that I really appreciate his rather detached dispassionate and often perspicacious  analysis of what is going on out there. Personally, I find a certain detachment is what I need to keep me reasonably calm in this quite insane environment. After a frolic and detour into the irrational and emotional, that too will pass, and eventually the adults will return, to try to address the hard issues, with the most practical solutions to some very serous problems that are facing us. At the moment, we are close to being in the epic fail mode. It saddens me. I am old, and will not really be personally affected much no matter what happens, short of a catastrophe, prior to the time I pass from the scene, but I do worry about the future of later generations, if we do not get our act together.
