Well that was my term, as in new as a candidate, rather than new on the political stage. Rupert used the word "replacement."

If Hillary tanks, I really don't see myself, how Sanders can just be kicked to the curb at this point. That would really, really enrage his supporters, and I don't see how someone new could put together a campaign at this point, and just roll over Sanders.

Those guys are just hoping Hillary gets beaten because they think Sanders will be an easier opponent.  Wishful thinking, not analysis.  She won't prevail in New Hampshire, but won Iowa and stands good chances in Nevada and in the Super Tuesday states, so forecasting her doom at this point is fairly premature.

But, then again, in '08 the Pubs thought Obama would be easier to beat than Hillary too...didn't turn out so well for them.

Unless the FBI recommends an indictment. That is something more than a remote possibility. Absent that, it is still barely possible for Sanders to win I think, if he can cut into the minority vote. We shall have to wait until SC to see if he is getting any traction there. But if that new national poll showing both candidates close to each other is even remotely right (Hillary is taking a lot of water taking big money from big finance, and now is resisting releasing transcripts of her speeches at Goldman Sachs), Sanders is in fact making some progress in cutting into the minority vote.

The nice thing about twitter is that not only aren't you required to defend or explain anything you post, but also you're not allowed to.

Anyway, if she tanks Sanders becomes the nominee.  Seems simple.  (Why John Kerry?!)  Tank won't be about that email breeches, if it happens.  Eyes just glaze over when the talking heads start talking about it.  It's too boring.  Even the rabid dogs who scrawl Hillary For Prison everywhere don't understand, and don't care to understand, the problem.  As for the people who might care about such things (A.G. Lynch, for example), they will kick that can down the road and let it be someone else's problem since they don't want to be associated with the inconvenient timing of the problem.

An FBI referral recommending indictment should be enough to derail Hillary. So the ball is not entirely in the AG's court on this one.

No an indictment does not render Hillary ineligible as a legal matter. I can see perhaps Hillary surviving the primary if the FBI recommends, and the AG rejects (that still would be very toxic for Hillary in the General). I have trouble seeing how she can make it, if the FBI recommends, and the AG is still pondering the matter up to the date of the nomination decision.
