" Asked whether Israel is a racist country, 47% of Democrats agreed it is"

Characterizing Israel as a "racist country," is pretty strong language, and goes beyond being estranged from the policies of the current Israeli government (with which I have some disagreements as well).  I for one am estranged from all that caustic and hyperbolic rhetoric out there in the pubic square. It makes sensible policy making just that much more difficult.

By the way the Jewish vote really does matter in PA and Ohio among the swing states, and may have some impact in MI, which is why Dem politicians outside certain constituencies are never going to get anywhere near using such language, and in fact will denounce it.
