His temperament is moderate. I have no idea if his politics are. I don't like labels anyway. On some issues one can be hard right, and on others hard left, relatively speaking. For example, as but a couple of examples, I favor a rather confiscatory inheritance tax, but loathe teachers' unions, and think the  "green" thing is mostly a non-data based fad - the latest iteration of the portfolio of "new age" religions, where faith trumps facts.
