Anvi, we have such different styles, mine the cut and thrust lawyer, you the more detached philosopher type, and typically more calm than I. Thus it was ironic when it seemed that the bruises from the ring hurt so much that you wanted to depart. But you got over it. You toughened up. And you learned with an open mind. That is what I like you about you. You are just open, to yourself, and  to the other, and willing to give it all a fair hearing and its due, rather than just reflexively demonize it. Come to think of it, that in part is what makes a good lawyer. Now I'm all mixed up. I need a hit.

Sorry my criticism part kind of sucked, but you make a really tough case for doing that, and more preparation, and sic'ing the NSA on your portfolio of posts to dig up dirt would have helped, but hey, I had more important priorities! Cheers.

He has an unnoticed arrogance and is hopelessly self centered.

But then, if he changed that, he wouldn't be Torie.  And that would be sad.

That's almost Haiku or whatever they call it. Smiley

Skip me, and the next guy help out Snow. I simply am not the right vehicle for that.

Could be a bit gentler on those less erudite than he, and sometimes his prose is a bit hard to parse (yes no doubt I am projecting), although I love his obscure words (I learn more new words from him than any other poster going away), and have added a couple to my repertoire, like "rebarbative." And he has the smart young "disease" of taking himself too seriously sometimes. But he is one of the jewels in the crown of this forum, and I guess my main concern is that he might not be too happy about his life, and might tend to be somewhat morose and anomic. Probably his religious side is helpful to him here.

In some ways, I was fairly similar to Nathan as a young man. I'm happy those days are over!  Smiley
