In my opinion, no "banee" should be allowed back who does first petition the mods to come back, presenting clear and convincing evidence that the individual has a new attitude, a substantial period of time has passed since being bounced, and the actions of the poster when here were more a matter of malum prohibitum, rather than malum in se.
The only petition that I would entertain seriously of those banned listed above is jmfcst provided it meets the criteria set forth above. Most on the list exhibited outrageous and inconsiderate behavior, and were high maintenance narcissists. So in my book, they are "lifers."

Really Grumps. There needs to be some orderly and non idiosyncratic or biased procedure for reinstatement. A petition to those with the power to effect the requested relief seems appropriate to me. I don't equate petitioning with groveling myself, having "scrivened" hundreds of such petitions in my life as it were, and I am just not wired to grovel (even if such were effective, and generally it is not, and should not be).
