How does Brown not running clear the way for someone like Biden? Brown's base is far closer to Sanders than Biden.

They have the same "rust belt electability" appeal. 

Biden's rust belt appeal (and his appeal in general) is far overstated. He certainly had that Rust Belt electability appeal at some point though post-2016, Biden more often than not has been uber tone deaf.
