Keep in mind that in Georgia (or suburban Atlanta, at least; I dunno about the rest of the state) there's still plenty of gas stations completely lacking in fuel. Gas that is available is going for $4+, at the most expensive rates in the nation.

I'm not saying Martin will win, but this is the sort of economic climate that would make Georgia elect a Democrat to the Senate.

White guy who beat Vernon Jones in the runoff. Lost Lt. Governor election in '06. Prior to that, was (IIRC) a chairman of something in the GA House.
