My four-person family's household income is currently around $75k per year, which means that we make more than about 70% of households in the country and probably about 80% of our home county. Globally that's probably almost in the top five percent or something. So yes, I'm pretty well off by most definitions. I've been generally oblivious to this fact for most of my life, because my friends have generally been better off (more well off?) than me, and especially here at college I'm one of the poorest kids here. It's all about perspective.

I am very well off on the global scale, somewhat well off on the national scale, and about average on the local scale.
