This question baffles me.  The world was a different place under Gerald Ford.  Plus they were much younger men who revered Ford.

A different President, age, and 35 more years of seeing the sh**t that goes on the world changed them or at least brought out the worst in them.

That said, I'm still a fan of Dick Cheney in many ways.
