I'm home from a good orientation.   It wasn't anything to write home about,  but it was something that had to be done. Ready for school to start on Monday, August 5.

No, but here in DaBurgh, most of the technical schools mirror what Pittsburgh Public does....if Pittsburgh Public Schools close, they tend to follow.....except at Pitt/CMU/Duquesne.

Coming from a family of bad diabetics, and being spared myself, fortunately, so far, it's not just sweets.  It's a balanced diet with a balanced carb intake. 

A diabetic diet /=/ just eliminating sweets.......you either eat well, or you shoot yourself up like a junkie and die.

You ALL need proper dietary counseling.....please get it.

Yes, you are absolutely correct.  Sweets is not the only change that will be made.  There will be wholesale changes.  I'm sure he will see a nutritionist soon and get ideas on how to make the changes and I am going to bring what I learn from my dietitian to the table and start making a conscious, concerted effort to make these wholesale changes.  I wish we could go to a dietitian appointment together as a family.  That would help more than anything right now as all three of us would hear the same information and less of it would be "lost in the car" between the dietitian's office and relaying it to the rest.

Once that is over, I'm hoping we can have another ECHO group where guys get together, talk about guy things, what we struggle with, encourage each other, build each other up, correct each other if necessary.  Whatever is said in that group stays in that group.  The guys don't even tell their wives unless they need to.

Bushie's well being is in jeopardy as witnessed today by the fact he's so sick he can't get out of bed and can't stop napping.

Bushie, let me ask you a serious question.  You post here and on Facebook that you got out of debt for one of your loans or cards. We know your mom and dad help you and we call you out on it here when you omit those things. Do you think it's very fair to omit public praise to your mom and dad for all they've done for you on your Facebook account?  In essence you are lying by omission and your friends just simply accept what you say. Your parents have changed their whole lives around to accommodate you and I think you should acknowledge that on occasion and not just here when we force it out of you.  It's better not to say anything at all than to take full credit for things you don't deserve full credit for.  Just think about that.
