When he looks at Obama, he sees the faces of his Kenyan children.

Aha!  I knew E would nail it.  Tongue

Things have changed dramatically just over the last 5 hours. First of all, the opportunity in Kansas busted.  That wasn’t the end of it, though.  I got a call from a firm in, guess…, Utah, Ogden, Utah.  I’ve got a job up there as a junior web developer if I want it starting Monday, September 10, 2012.  I have talked it over with my parents, and I will be on my way to Utah on Monday, September 3, 2012.  I will be staying in an extended stay hotel for probably the first two months until I get a real good feel for how I will like the job.  This is my opportunity, and I’m taking it!!  This application process started earlier in August even while Xerox was playing its game with me, but I just kept it under my hat for a while as Kansas was my first choice.

So you lied again?  You said you were putting all of your eggs in one basket (being Kansas).  Come on, man...

I did not lie.  I was putting all my eggs in the Kansas basket, then when Kansas went down, I withdrew the eggs and placed them in the Utah basket.  I was all in for Kansas should they have accepted me.

Fair enough, but since J-Mann, properly I might add, won't provide details, what happened and what did you learn?

Out of curiosity, how are you managing the hotel bill? I can't imagine that it's cheap, even for a long-term stay. I'd think a month-to-month apartment lease would be significantly cheaper.

I imagine it's the normal answer?

That would be my guess.

...I will need to make a quick Walmart run on my way home so I don't have to keep eating out and blowing money and gaining weight.

What can you get at Walmart that won't make you fat?

Apparently nothing

Exactly what I was thinking, George.

I'm sure his parents are going to be thrilled about paying for this hotel room till god knows when...

It's got to be $2K for 2 and half months.....just for the room.....yowza.

How can his parents afford that? $2,000 for 2 months? I don't think they are particularly wealthy in the first place.

Maybe they're financing things the way the US government does?

Stealing from the poors to give to the riches?  Wink

Oh good lord.  Stop discouraging him, guys.  Teaching is NOT a job that requires special talent.  I it is a job that requires stomaching abysmal pay and loads of unpleasant duty - rather like most jobs.

One thing the neophyte teacher better understand from the get-go - you aren't going to shape anything, must less a young 'mind'.

We don't want young minds destroyed, opebo.

Is it safe to assume that Jeff really has a job now?

Has it ever been safe?

Easy, Inks and (not so) Fat Daddy TX.....opebo's engaging in a bit of excessive hyperbole now.....if we weren't talking about teachers he probably wouldn't even be involved in the discussion Wink

Whatever happnened to the thread of mod review if Bushie fails to lose x pounds? Has the time elapsed yet? I would love an update on this particular subplot.

Deadline is two weeks from now.

Deadline is two weeks away and I'm just 3 pounds away!
Pics or it didn't happen.

Put a piece of paper that says "Atlas" while you're on the scale and we can see the weight.

OK I've missed a lot. Anyone have the Sparknotes?

He got a job in Utah, living in an extended stay hotel, getting his own aparment.

So far it's been a boring month....
