If Pelosi would not become Speaker I would say yes but she is just so awful I have to hope no.

^^^^Yes/Tossup.  I'm pulling for the Democrats to retake the House, but at the same time I don't want that pile of trash Nancy Pelosi to be the Speaker of the House.  Steny Hoyer or, hell, even Rahm Emmanuel would be a better fit.

My guess right now, based on current conditions is that the Democrats will gain 10-12 seats.  That won't be enough to gain control of the House, though.  Perhaps if we fail to take the House this year, House Democrats will oust Pelosi as Minority Leader and elevate Hoyer to replace him, with Emmanuel or Murtha possibly as Minority Whip.

Please, no Murtha.  He seems to hate every singe thing Bush does and even seems to hate Bush himself.

I'd rather have Emmanuel than Murtha as Minority Whip, personally.
