Stick a fork in Karen Bass. She's just getting creamed this last week.

I really hope he makes a decision tomorrow or Friday, but I do have a feeling it'll be Monday or Tuesday next week.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/510936-biden-vp-race-is-highly-fluid-days-before-expected-pick

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who was seen as a front-runner in the spring but seemed to fade from the spotlight, is still very much in the race, said several sources.

“Joe has always liked her,” one source close to Biden said of Whitmer. “They’re very similar. He can relate to her. It shouldn’t be surprising to anyone that she’s still very much in the mix.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is also not out of the running and has taken part in the final stages of the process, sources say, and several Democrats say a surprise from Biden is possible.

Another article mentioning Whitmer. It sounds like she is probably in the final 3 or 4 and if you really believe Biden wanted Klobuchar first, Whitmer is the perfect substitute and unlike Amy has no problem with African-American groups.

I think him picking Warren would energize the base from the Progressive Wing and it baits Trump into his stupid nonsense of "Pocahontas" name calling shifting the focus to Trump's glaring insensitivity to everything. Though, I really think Joe needs to suck it up, get over his bad feelings of being offended and pick Kamala Harris. She's a straight F'n shooter. She'll call you out and with his gaffe today which was like WTF dude, she can interject with his team on how he should be handling this stuff. Kamala can be the Joe to Obama for Joe Biden. I'm not sure who on his team has it out for her because she's tough. I'm on the Kamala train right now, because Joe can really screw this whole thing up picking the wrong VP right now, believe me.

Picking Harris would be a world historical mistake.

He has to look at how the person will affect the future of the party, how they work with him, how much governing experience they bring, and how much electoral help they bring. With regard to the first and second, her Hive can hardly hide the fact that they want to throw ole' Joe under the table as fast as possible so she can be crowned the next Queen of the Party. They pander to extreme toxic and divisive sentiments in the Party and revel in wishing ill on progressives way beyond what is needed. If this happens it will completely cut off Millennials and Gen Z from having an equal say in the future nominee in 2024 or 2028 and could result in another bitter showdown like 2016. One of the few things the Democrats have going for them in these Trump years is strength among young voters but that can't continue if they keep spitting in young voters' faces. Harris more than others has no principles and will simply say with a smile on her face "it was a debate" to justify a completely disingenuous attack on Biden. Harris isn't a happy warrior, she just laughs at things that are serious topics with a very flippant attitude which is totally inappropriate and out of step with the grave mood that most Americans are rightfully feeling. That doesn't recommend her sense of sympathy as a highly privileged Senator for Americans who are suffering in many ways right now. With regard to experience she has only four years of federal office and did a horrible job of managing her own campaign.

Warren did a much better job than her of bringing new policy ideas to the table, some of which have now been adopted to Biden's campaign. Biden and Warren use some of the same slogans and as far as policy goes despite their past disagreements on bankruptcy they see the country's problems similarly when it comes to Social Security, student debt, and economic relief. At 71, she's also the one least likely to run again which means that there can be a healthy, side open field for after Biden leaves. She's also shown to be a strong small dollar fundraiser on the trail. Warren's ideas and talents have been used again and again, like when she proposed the CFPB, but she never gets any credit or respect for it. It's just an awful thing to happen to Warren, a very impressive woman by any measure. On the other hand Harris doesn't poll particularly strongly. After weeks if not months of media coverage, she still barely edges out Warren in VP preferences and trails her among young voters, independents, and those who could be persuaded to vote Biden. And just on the merits, Harris is absolutely awful. Her record is horrendous and makes a mockery of a Party that pretends to care about criminal justice. I don't care that she was a prosecutor or a "cop", some good people are prosecutors. I care about the specific abuses that happened under her watch which she knew about and the decisions she made that reflected zeal to punish the underprivileged while going light on the powerful. Voters may not know about every detail of these cases but they have a general idea that her record isn't good and besides the media building up her inevitability many won't have a good idea of why she was picked.

At the end of the day if he picks Harris (as is very likely) I may still vote for the ticket (and I might not), we all have to accept reality, but it'd just be another in a long line of bad turns American politics has taken in recent years.

Touche. Harris' main donors are heavily involved with the Clinton's and I'm by no means a fan of the Clinton's. I know what you mean, but for this moment, she is no nonsense and she can always be challenged in the primaries. It's been kind of the bread and butter of what has been evolving in the Left with AOC, Pressley, Bowman, etc. I think the way the coalition is heading right now, Kamala has become the clear favorite. Now, if Warren is the VP nominee, I'm all for it but I think from strategy bring out Kamala and let her do her thing against Trump/Pence.

I expect him to announce on Tuesday, let the Monday news cycle go over the Stimulus debacle and then announce the VP the next day to just hammer Trump & the GOP for not doing anything.

It's a good selection. It shows that Biden wants to win this election, personally feelings put aside and now we can start to get out the vote for Biden/Harris ticket. I can't wait until the VP debate, she's going to wipe the floor with Pence.

This will be interesting to see how the Trump Campaign tries to go after Kamala Harris, it already seems they will end up failing.
