Elections in Guatemala were today. So far few official results, but exit polls indicate (as expected) a second round in the presidential race:

exit poll by El Periodico:

Álvaro Colom (UNE) 36%
Otto Pérez (PP) 29%
Alejandro Giammatei (GANA) 18%
Eduardo Suger (Casa) 8%
Rigoberta Menchú (EpG) 3%
Luis Rabbe (FRG) 3%

everybody else under 2%

Run-off between Colom and Pérez expected in November

Who's Giammatei? The articles (all phenomenal two of them Tongue ) I read before the election never mentioned him.

Candidate of the ruling party (or, at least, the candidate of the party of the outgoing president). For the last couple of months (at least) he wasn't expected to make it into the run-off.
