I'm really, REALLY hoping for Dungy...very unrealistically. Time to cut loose all the idiotic offseason additions to the team along with Andy, Marty, and Juan...oh did I mention Andy? It's been far too long for his absolute garbage to be taken seriously. This team is dead in the water. We have Vick on offense and Babin on defense with the huge dead weight of Jackson and Asomugha. It's OVER...embarrassingly so. The sooner we eliminate the named failures (plus many, many more), the better off the franchise is. Go Ravens from now on...

13 years of SHAT right back at Andy Reid. I couldn't be more pissed...I know now after all these years what it's really like to be an Eagles fan. It blows HARD...

I don't know if I've had more intense feelings toward a person I've never met, even considering politics. I absolutely despise that douche for what he does every day. F him completely...up and down and all around. I really take it THAT personally. I can't believe what he's done to my sports personality. And what I hate more is the abuse he's heaped on the players that have actually earned the positions they hold. It really drops my stomach to think of what some players could have done for this poor team if only given the chance. Well, rant far beyond over. Sorry for taking out my rambling rage on you guys, but this day has been a serious turning point in my sports life.

Hopefully, you come out of Week 8 with a record of 2-5, giving Dallas a record of 4-3!!  I feel confident that my 'Boys will take care of the Canaries Sunday Night.

Classy as ever...Rob Ryan on DeSean Jackson: "I'm going to land on his shoulder and put him out. So that'll be awesome."

Will this be the year Norv gets the door?

One would hope. He's worse than Shanahan at riding the talent of his players. At least Shanahan won some things. Norv is so bad he can't even take a #1 ranked offense WITH a #1 ranked defense to the playoffs.

Looks like DeSean was playing for his own Dream Team this morning, the little twat. Figures...of all people to "sleep in" and miss a meeting it's the Rosenhaus diva. I see it as a win-win. He doesn't have to risk his precious body for a team he doesn't care about and we get to try out Cooper and Smith to work out his replacement. Time for someone to hide Asante's alarm clock so we can move Rodgers-Cromartie outside.

I didn't know what year of his contract he was in.  I will laugh if he stays unemployed.  Although, with how quicly Tampa Bay grabbed Albert Haynesworth, I would be very suprised if Jackson isn't in high demand come March.

He'll be snagged almost immediately, I'm sure. He's the TO of the future. Infinite potential and a me-first attitude that becomes cancerous on a team. DeSean's world revolves around DeSean. He'll be fantastic his first year or two on his new team and then he'll eat away at it.

The rest of our team is completely lost. On defense we have a deeply flawed plan and confused players. And the players that aren't confused are just terrible. Everyone on both sides of the ball has been absolutely embarrassing at the most simple of tasks like tackling and ball security. On offense there's just absolutely nobody performing but McCoy and he's negated by Reid's inexplicable hatred of running. The humiliatingly transparent and detrimental fakes to McCoy on every single pass are baffling. On top of the idiocy from all fronts is the undoubted stubbornness that will prevent us from helping any situation in games to come.

I'm not really one for firing Reid, but if Cowher was the definite replacement...well, Andy who?

After some contemplation and discussion with friends, I have decided that the one issue contributing to the fact that the Eagles blow harder than anyone could have ever expected is that they are no longer a Philadelphia team. For months and even years the new mantra of the Eagles with relation to the fans has been to cancel them out and treat them like opposing fans. The Eagles aren't tough enough to hang with the expectations. They think they can escape the spectacular pressure of playing in Philly by pretending it's not there, but in reality they're simply not tough enough to handle it. Since he's been here Andy's been trying to put together a flash-bang ooh-aah football team despite the sports culture present in the city. This is a dirty, smash mouth, knock-down drag-out town that expects their teams to personify that. The Broad St Bullies, the Bounty Bowl, the Body Bag Game. These were all right up Philly's alley. Andy thinks he can get around that and change the culture of Philly sports with a flashy celebrity team. No Eagles fans give a flying fudge who is on their team as long as they can kick the living sh!t out of Dallas and New York. We can't do that. We're the prancing fairies of the NFL that are supposed to be able to flutter away from trouble. That to me is the root of all the franchise's problems. And you can see it in player interviews and Andy's constant FUs to the city with his bullsh!t "I need to do a better job" statements. Players have been coming out of the woodwork (Avant, Jackson, Kolb) complaining about the fans saying that their strategy during home games is to ignore them. What happened to players like Dawkins and Runyan that channeled that pressure into absolute dominance? The players we have now are only here because they thought they could swing by, cash in, and pick up a Super Bowl ring while they're here.

And those have been my thoughts regarding this garbage team for a while. Finally gathered all my general thoughts and you get to see it all! Weeeee Tongue

I love that apparently football didn't exist prior to the Super Bowl. They won us three championships and have fared much better in the post-season than the new Eagles. The last couple playoffs have been terrible while the first half of the decade for the Eagles was one of the most successful periods for any NFL team ever. Only the Patriots and Colts were better  in the 2000s and only because they won the big game. Playing that way gives us a much better chance at getting back to the Super Bowl. It took us one game away 5 times in 8 years.

Yes, I'm aware of that. That's why I've mentioned the early 2000s in particular. We had a top-notch coach and a philosophy that still worked. Reid and McNabb had been clamoring for a flashy offense all along but we still had Johnson carrying the team with the dominant defense. Now that he's unfortunately gone, everything he had done has gone to hell and Reid finally has his flashy offense that doesn't work. So two bad halves because Andy finally got what he wanted (in fact rumor had it back in the day that Reid was infatuated with Vick from early on). Yes, he's by far our best coach but he's gone too far in trying to change the culture of the team and the city. That doesn't work. If we had Reid coaching Buddy's teams I have no doubt we'd be considered one of the best teams of the era rather than just the bullies that couldn't get it done.

When a team has a lead at the end of 9/10 games, how is it out of the question to assume they should be at least an 8 win team? Sounds like Eagles hater whining to me.

"Andy Sucks" and "Fire Andy"

First fire Castillo (and effing Marty...10 years too late) immediately and let Andy ride out the rest of the season and see how much better it could have been. But of course Andy would rather lose the rest of their games than admit he made a mistake. Just like he'd rather call a surprise play than actually score a touchdown.

We've been eliminated. This game punctuated the sentence "The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles are a terrible team that will not make the playoffs" permanently. It's the same old problems all coming to a head at the exact same time. Andy has never been interested in fixing the problems, he's been more interested in building his fantasy team with his fantasy player, Vick and letting the actual planning and playing of games fall to the wayside. I don't want Reid gone unless we can lock up Cowher or someone better, which is unlikely. Lurie just needs to make him accountable to his stupid crap. He's been allowed to do whatever he wants with no questions asked. Time for a serious dose of pressure on that smug A-hole.

The rumored "fire Castillo if you want to keep your job" ultimatum is extremely encouraging yet, I'm sure equally false. Doesn't sound very Lurie unfortunately.

And COME ON Eagles, you're killing us keeping the tiny, tiny playoff window open.

Certainly don't like to see the Birds lose, but what does winning accomplish at this point...with the birds needing to win out and have both NY and Dallas crap the bed...just to get a berth...never say never sure...but given how unlikely this season is to end with anything of championship consquence, lets get going to the real work at hand.

Yeah, it probably would make more sense to just take it and move on. I can never seem to give up the ghost though and with our recent draft record, does it matter where we end up anyway?
