Yeah I'm satisfied so far. The government is working together relatively well, even if at times Ra'am causes issues. For the first time in over a decade, we can just grill.

First reading of the budget bill and ancillary legislation today. all will pass, on Sunday they will move to different house committees before the second and third reading in October\November.

Due to Labour and Meretz's intervention the poulterers were excluded from the agricultural reform and the new super-regulator had his wings clipped.

miscalculation by both as they will lose voters to YA next round.

Why won't they just pass the budget now instead of waiting for October-November?

Shimon Peres accused of sexual harassment by a former Labour MK, Kolt Avital. They were rumoured to be lovers in the past. Oof, to say the least.

Wouldn't the time to come out with such an allegation be when the person in question is...erm...alive?

No, not necessarily

No, not necessarily
I just wonder the worth of such a public allegation if there's little to no way to prove its veracity.

Giving context to rumours about her, dealing with trauma or an uncomfortable past, encouraging potential other victims to speak out, illustrating what women had to deal with in the workplaces in the past and present, just for example

2021 budget passed with no problems. 2022 budget expected today. It includes a minimum wage increase, a raise of women's retirement age and taxes on sugary drinks and plastic dishes that'll raise their prices significantly.

NSOgate in full force. It appears the police had hacked the phones of well everybody using NSO software without warrants or beyond their scope.

Politicians, senior civil servants, mayors, business leaders, the son of Bibi, and others were all hacked.

The government will probably have a state inquiry panel to look into it. This will be the third panel formed within the last year.

The bizarre part is that atm neither the police nor the ministry of justice has any clear idea on how wide was the rogue SIGINT operation.

Do you think it'll affect the Netanyahu trial like right wing hacks want it to?

What’s the view of the Russian-Israeli population on the current conflict and Putin more generally?

From my experience, the war really harmed Putin's image in that community. He used to be very popular because he pushes all the right patriarchal masculine strongman buttons for these people, but now the camp seems split in 3: people who support Ukraine and are very anti-Putin, people who claim that don't support the war but muddy the water by claiming that everything is fake news and we don't know what's actually going on, and people who parrot Kremlin propaganda. I'm not sure what's the size of each camp, but from people I personally know, I'd say the first and second are bigger.

Non-Russian Russian-speakers, like Ukrainian and Belarusian Israelis, are overwhelmingly anti-Putin.

In other news, FM Lapid had a very strong success with the "Negev Summit" he organized with Secretary Blinken and the FMs of Egypt, UAE, Bahrein and Morocco. They decided to hold the summit annualy and generally projected a very positive relationship.

The coalition whip, MK Idit Silman, defected this morning to the opposition on the grounds of "Horowitz decision to let people bring in Hametz to hospitals during passover."

That's of course BS, as it's not Horowitz's decision but rather a SC ruling. nonetheless, the coalition now lost its majority

Remember when Yuli Edlestein refused to comply with a SC ruling and faced no consequence? Yeah...

Not sure I followed you there Mrs. Michaeli. Edelstein was removed from his position so a vote could be held on the spot (the court couldn't hold him in contempt anyhow).
Also in this case the court verdict is addressed to hospitals, not the government. Horowitz merely reminded hospital chiefs of it, same as last year under...Edelstein.

Read her interview with Guntazh in Haaretz. she most definitely doesn't know what she's talking about

Oh I agree. My point was that after Edlestein very publicly defied a SC ruling, I feel like it opened the door for further contempt of the SC's decisions.
