Weren't the Phelpses civil rights lawyers? that would clash with the segregationists and racists of the CRA. However in other regards, their blatan homophobia and anti-semitism and probable islamophobia would be perfect in this state.

Hm, imo Phelps is such an evil man that there is no way him being a civil right lawyer actually meant that he was principled on this subject. I think that in this universe, he'd be a very enthusiastic CRA supporter who'd take an important role in the government.

Also, what's happening with Israel and Russia ITTL? Did the Soviets fall naturally (and the iron curtain with them), earlier or later? What about Israel, did it manage to survive on its own (I'm almost certain it could- we'd just find other allies, like Brazil), and is it more left-wing in this universe considering the CRA's existence probably causing seething hate against it and constantly reminding of the dangers of right-wing extremism?
Also, I assume that Israel, if existing. also declared war on the CRA. It's one of our nation's proclaimed goals to defend all Jews in the world, so I wouldn't be surprised if wer were in a constant (official) state of war with the CRA, and certain that our intelligence services were actively engaged in the efforts against it for decades.

I guess I'd support a ragtag of Social Democrats, Worker's Emanicipation and Moderate Laborist politicians. I'd probably be most comfortable supporting socially liberal Moderate Laborists.

It's good to see some voices that understand the danger in radical leftism- I'm worried that there seem to be way too many in this TL's America who are ready to embrace radical socialism or outright communism. That'd be disastrous for this reborn country.
