McCrory has filed a protest against the results in Durham County, requesting hand count of 90,000 ballots, claiming they were mistakes in tabulations of machine-counted votes citing "bleary eyes and tired hands". Roy Cooper is leading by 5,000 votes with tens of thousands of provisional ballots yet to be counted though they apparently are going to face the Democrat Cooper.
