Buttigieg is getting used to the idea of being Veep, since he compliments Bernie all the time

Bernie isn't going to be the nominee so I don't see the point.

What’s Pete’s plan going to be when he loses? If Trump gets re-elected he won’t have a cabinet position, if he runs for Congress or a statewide position he’ll look like an opportunist and would probably lose by 20 points again, and if he runs again 2024 and loses his political career is over.

Indiana is a non-starter, so his only chance would be to shamelessly carpetbag. Find some state that he thinks he could win, move there, and run for Senate or maybe Governor. It worked for Hillary Clinton, so it could work for him.

Maybe he could run for Rob Portman's Senate seat in 2022? He's moderate enough to be competitive in OH, and since it's still a hard state to win for a Democrat carpetbagging might be viewed as doing the party a favor by many.

Buttigieg has zero chance of becoming President, he has a small chance of becoming VP, but we were discussing a scenario where he ended up not getting on the ticket and outside the cabinet

He'll be back, either for an Indiana Gov run or a US Senate run there.

He can't win a Senate race in IN, he should move to OH and run for Toomey's seat in 2022.
