i got a feeling, the scale of the syria civil war wasn't covered as much in the US as in europe.

there are soooo many dead, soooo many displaced, soooo many crippled and sooo many lost.....there is nearly nothing the US could do which would impact the country in a more negative way than it was following the last 5 years.

Except killing more people would impact the county in a more negative way?

you are absolutely correct and very human.

i am just "triggered" if someone writes about possible refugees or destabilization.....those limits are loooooooong gone.

So....is this he start of world war 3?.....

how should that unfold?

there would have been a much higher chance of a big-scale conflict in ukraine.

russia doesn't care enough.

On Twitter, lots of Trump's supporters are not happy about this at all. They think he's going against what he ran on.
A lot of people who support Trump on twitter are in all honesty, paid Putin trolls. This is a good thing.
You're endorsing a conspiracy theory from the left now?

the troll factories of st. petersburg and the existence of less elaborated twitter bots are a "conspiracy"?

Thank God, soldiers at Al-Shayrat said no casualties. No Russians hit. Most missiles struck the same area on the airfield.

Any Dem 2020 potential candidate should be disqualified if they support this.

what exactly?

a limited strike as retaliation to scare a dictator from gassing his own people, after informing the local super-power to prevent a bigger war and including the promise, that this isn't a change of your general policy?

So no one died, some military infrastructure was destroyed, and a message was sent. Not seeing a downside here.

The "message" being what exactly?

kill your own people only with burning barrels and bullets.

Hope the RUUUUUSSSSIIAAA Folks are happy now...

why, thank you, idd......reassuring to fond out, there are also some real conservatives with principles in the WH and not just alt-right hippies.

and ofc it would be most hypocritical for me to criticize the trump admn. for a strike, which was planned well enough, that i would have praised it coming from any other admn. too.

Someone's not happy about the Syrian strikes and is deflecting.

I'm living in the middle of Europe, so of course I'm NOT happy with the danstger of WW III on the horizon! But I don't blame Trump, I'm blame all of this stupid, butthurt Leftists and Neocons with their Russia psychosis, cause it makes everything damn hard to manage. We would need an immediate meeting Trump-Putin but Trump simply can't do because of all this FUCCCCING idiots in the media etc who can't handle the election results!!!!

i understand what you are saying, i mean, why would an omega male like him sharing any responsibility at all...who do you think he is - the president?

Do you agree that an escalation has to be prevented and a meeting Trump-Putin is necessary as soon as possible?

Btw, I miss the old Iraq War days when the Left was against war...

oh i am absolutely for us-russia syria talks, but at this point secretaries of defense/state should be high-ranking enough.

and "the alt-left" (or more correctly the peace movement) is usually only against western ward, otherwise those people don't care.

i don't care why trump has approved this and it changes my picture of him only marginally but the strike itself was done just right.

i don't think anyone agreeing with this course of action is suddenly in team trump if he wasn't there before.

So, do we have a consensus on why Assad would want to use Chem weapons? Why not carry on with conventional weapons with Russian help which over the last few years has led to a turning of the tide.  Why upset the applecart when you've got a good thing going?

because you can, you got a super-power behind you, you have won and you don't give a flying eff.

Why not use chemical weapons against rebells or ISIS? Why use it against civils few days after USA changed their policy to "Assad is not our priority"?

the government is only marginally fighting against ISIS and according to russia's fariy tale, those weren't civilians anyway.

Sen. Lindsey Graham says he supports putting 5,000-7,000 American troops in the ground in Syria to help take down Assad.

graham doesn't stop talking, there must be a million interviews right now.

Sen. John McCain says last night's strikes were covered under both the Constitution and the 2001 AUMF.

He said Syria broke international law w/ chemical attacks. "Anybody who believes that we shouldn't respond to that, I have no use for them."
