Whats wrong with that, the government appoints supreme court justices here too

in most of the countries of this world your way of dealing with the judge question seems....weird.

one could argue it's more honest since judges surely also have a personal opinion to handle....but in general nearly all democracies see judges as non-partisan and except them to behave that way.#

otherwise i assume this is more about stacking the courts. Wink

In the US the government appoints judges.And if your going to call modi out on this remember FDR tried to pack the court too.

yeah, the different branches usually appoint judges.

but as far as i know, the US is the only liberal democracy which makes such a partisan show out the whole thing.

and ofc i am calling FDR out...like mister orban, putin and kazynski.

i follow the stannis-approach on that: praise someone for his good deeds and criticize him for his failures.
