Frankly I don't think it would change anything else that's happened in the state since (Landrieu winning reelection). JBE would still be elected in 2015 and the only candidate Fayard could have beaten would have been David Duke, son realistically Fayard would never be elected one way or the other

You don’t think back-to-back victories in Louisiana would build a massive campaign apparatus for Fayard?

No, Landrieu and JBE are much more conservative than Fayard is. On the other hand, if both Landrieu and JBE win their elections and someone other than Trump is the GOP nominee, I could see Foster Campbell taking that Senate seat.
