Justin Trudeau's speech in front of a massive Liberal rally in some random smaller Québécoiscity 3 days before the election:

Good afternoon Quebec and Canada!

As the election approaches, I have some things I believe are important to emphasize to set the record straight on why a Liberal majority is essential for a stable and fair Canada.

What we are showing and will continue to show is that despite the populist rhetoric of some of our opponents, we are the ones who you can trust to deliver. In December, we passed historic Middle Class tax cuts, showing our commitment to helping low and middle income Canadians make their way in life.

The Tories have no vision when it comes to the economy, with only two of their five proposals being related to it. You know what? Its no surprise that they wouldn't want to talk about it - their record on the economy is simply embarrassing. Harper's economic record was the worst in Canadian history since 1945 according to economists at Unifor. Two recessions under his watch. Rising unemployment, increasing income inequality. Now you may say that Scheer isn't to blame for Harper's failings. Sure, but given his ambiguity on the issue, is it worth taking a risk? One policy position that Scheer has taken on the economy is that he would introduce a tax lock to prevent any tax increases. Well, this Liberal government has already, as I have mentioned, cut the taxes on 9 million Canadians. Unlike Scheer however, we are realists. We know that simply keeping taxes the same isn't going to help our economy. Therefore, we pledge to uphold our proposal for increased taxes on the top 1%. Whether the Tories want to admit it or not, the lack of investment by Harper's government is a large part of the reason for his failure. We will use this extra money to invest in our public services. That is the best way to fix our economy.

Much like the Tories, the NDP's manifesto has strikingly lacked much unique vision on the economy. Their proposals on the economy are fairly similar to ours - more taxes on the rich to fund more investment in our public services. The difference is that the Liberal party has a proven record of actually implementing these policies. As for Bloc Québécois, they continue to spew populist drivel about my record, saying that I don't follow through on my promises. This is a baseless lie! If Mr. Fortin wants to know what I've done for Quebec, I've passed a massive tax cut and invested in Quebec's infrastructure. This is a pretty low level to stoop.

In short, the reason why we need a Liberal majority government is simple. What the Liberal party offers is both stability and solutions. While some talk a lot about solutions, they often don't deliver. We are delivering. The lies and finger pointing of Bloc Québécois and the NDP, and the vague platitudes of the Tories are an insult to the intelligence of the Canadian people. We deserve better!

Trudeau issues a tongue lashing on the Tories for their recent lies on the economy at a rally in British Columbia

As I've brought up before, economists have calculated that Steven Harper was the worst Prime Minister since World War Two on the economy. Today, our good friend Mr Scheer has decided to admit that unwittingly. He has attacked the state of the economy and blamed me for it. What he forgets is these recessions that we are recovering from occured under Harper. It is the Liberal party which is picking up the pieces.

He also spews an outright lie on taxes, saying that a Liberal government will charge exorbitant tax rates. This is simply false. Did he forget the tax cuts we passed for 9 million Canadians in December? We are clear where we stand on this. The only people who will see a tax increase is the top 1%, its time they paid their fair share.

What Scheer and the Tories clearly fail to understand is that we need investment in our economy to bring it back to speed. If you wanna see the results of the Tories' tax cuts, look no further than Harper. He cut taxes on the rich and he ended up with a terrible economic record.

Justin Trudeau celebrates his victory and sets the tone for his next term

Good evening Canada.

My message tonight is very simple, we will not let you down!

It has been a very interesting campaign and I would like to thank my opponents for putting up a fight!

Anyway, its time for us to get down to business of forming a government. I can promise that regardless of if you voted or didn't vote for us, we will run the country in your interests, in the interests of economic justice and social justice, as we work to pick up the pieces to create a prosperous Canada once more.

Our very first priorities will be to introduce a tax increase on the top 1% to help deal with the scourge of income inequality!

Before I finish tonight, I have a bold offer to make. I am offering the opposition parties a cabinet seat each, its time they put their money where their mouth is and get to work to deliver a prosperous future for Canada. We all know how easy it is to criticize from the opposition, but actually doing something isn't so easy. We welcome the opposition parties with open arms to take this generous opportunity.

Good night and thank you Canada!
