On a totally different subject, what does (((this thing))) mean? The guy who I interned for in 2012 had that in his Twitter username.

Implying a Jewish connection, as I recently found out? Example being "(((Wall Street)))". Apparently used by the less pro-Semite area of the Interweb.
Yep. As a result, ironic/reclamation use is pretty quickly on the rise, so you may see it used by Jewish people/people accused of these connections/etc., too.
