Beet: I have been thinking carefully about the election results all month. I will try to be as succinct as possible. The Democratic party is in unacceptably poor shape with no clear path back. There is no point in being in an irrelevant party if you want to have a say in American politics. I will represent the anti-Prohibition, anti-big business, centrist wing of the GOP. And yes, I have switched my support to Hoover. Good luck, New Yorkers. The ship is yours.
